This is David’s fifth year on the board of Big Apple Orange, and his second year as President. He has held multiple positions for the NYC club, and has also spent one year as a member of the board of the SU Alumni Club of Chicago. As a Newhouse (’11) graduate with a degree in Magazine Journalism, David followed a production path after school, formerly working at The Rachael Ray Show and 120 Sports. While a student, he could usually be found on press row at various sporting events with credentials that included CitrusTV, Rivals.com, Newshouse.com, The Daily Orange, and more. He is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in secondary education from Hofstra University.

Originally from Long Island, Brad graduated from Syracuse in 2014, not leaving an ounce of Orange pride behind as he returned home. While at SU he spent several years as the face of Otto’s Army, the official Orange student section. Brad also held leadership positions across campus, including a tenure as General Manager of CitrusTV, and serving on the Lead Team of the University 100 student ambassadors. Since graduation he has worked in several industries, including TV production and social advertising & analytics. Brad currently works as an Account Executive at BOLD Worldwide, a sports advertising agency.

Mathew Stachnik – Treasurer

B.S. in Finance | Martin J. Whitman School of Management, 2013

Prior to attending Syracuse University Mathew fenced competitively for 6 years. He graduated from the Whitman School of Management with a BS in Finance in May 2013. During his education at Syracuse he was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity where he was the financial chair and participated in many community service oriented events including adopt a highway for the clean up of Comstock ave and volunteering at the boys and girls club. During his junior year, Mathew had the opportunity to study abroad in Madrid, Spain, where he significantly improved his proficiency of his third language and developed. Mathew currently works as a financial analyst at JPMorgan for the financing desk as part of the fixed income business. He enjoys the outdoors, traveling, and catching up with friends. In the future he hopes to see as much of the world as he can and potentially establish his own business.

Charlotte Lipman – Co-Vice President of Marketing

Charlotte graduated from Syracuse University in 2013 with a B.S. in Television/Radio/Film from Newhouse. While at Syracuse, Charlotte was Promotions Manager at Orange Television Network and served on the executive board of the Alpha chapter of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. Charlotte is currently Research Manager at NY-based firm MyersBizNet where she manages b2b market research and content development for MediaVillage.com, servicing clients in the media industry. A born and raised New Yorker, Charlotte loves museums, theater and beating Duke.

Jason graduated from Syracuse University in 2003 with a dual B.A. in Television/Radio/Film from Newhouse and Political Philosophy from A&S before returning for MBAs in Marketing Management and Supply Chain Management from the Whitman School. While at Syracuse, Jason was heavily involved in Syracuse events in and around campus, including founding Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity, working at The Goldstein Alumni Center, Clear Channel & CBS affiliate WTVH, and never missing a ‘Cuse football or basketball game, especially our championship season with Melo in 2003 – GO ‘CUSE!

After leaving the snowy confines of Central NY, Jason moved back to the NYC area, working in marketing and product development in a variety of categories, including toys & games, consumer electronics, travel accessories, and tablets. He is currently the Director of Marketing & Product Development and acts as a consultant for several companies in brand strategy, project management, and concept ideation/development. A first-time member of the BAO board, he is excited to become more involved and connected with other Syracuse alumni in the NYC & NJ area as well as grow our alumni networking base as a whole. In addition to joining the BAO, Jason acts an Alumni Mentor for the Whitman School.

Kevin Heaphy – Co-Vice President of Membershipemail_icon

Kevin currently works as an environmental engineering manager at WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff in NYC working on various projects such as-Second Ave Subway Project and LaGuardia Redevelopment projects. He Graduated in 1989 with dual B.S degrees in Civil Engineering and Geology. He looks forward to supporting Big Apple Orange help alumni in the NY Metro area from across the decades reconnect and support S.U. Kevin is an advid S.U. basketball fan since the days of Pearl.

Rob Geils – Co-Vice President of Membershipemail_icon

B.S. in Television, Radio & Film | S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, 1985

Rob has a strong desire to connect SU grads of all ages to build a stronger, more valuable engagement experience, to foster better alumni networking, and to promote activities and events that are more relevant to a wider range of alumni in the NYC metro. In the past Rob has served as First VP of Big Apple Orange and as Mentorship Chair at WhitmanNYC. As Greenwich Village residents, Rob and his wife Maura curate a small art gallery on Bleecker Street and spend much of their time in the West Village with their daughter Lily and their dog Peaches. Rob is a NYC real estate broker at the Corcoran Group and has held positions in financial planning, credit, sales and marketing at HSBC, JP Morgan Chase, and MetLife. When he’s not out looking at property, Rob can be found on the Hudson River Greenway training for his 5th NYC Marathon.

Lexie Slavin – Co-Vice President of Programmingemail_icon

Lexie Slavin recently graduated with a degree in public relations as a member of the Class of 2017. While on campus, Lexie strived to be as involved as possible in her four years. This included participating on a research committee for new PR professors in Newhouse, acting as a peer advisor, and being an active member of Alpha Gamma Delta. During her senior year, Lexie also held multiple positions including Vice President of Otto’s Army, Assistant Director of Development for Hill Communications and Lead Team member with University 100. During all of this, she still found time to work at Destiny USA as a sales associate for J. Crew. Currently, she is an Account Coordinator at Cohn & Wolfe working within the Healthcare division at their New York City office. Lexie is hoping to translate the skills she learned on campus to her new role on the BAO board, while also showing all of the SU pride she has. Go ‘Cuse!

Tory Lipsey – Vice President of Technologyemail_icon

Youngest of 12 siblings born in the deep south (Meridian, MS) and raised in the west (Denver CO). He moved to NYC in 2009 and is a 1st generation graduate as of 2014 from the school of Arts and Science. While at SU he severed as Chairmen of the Multicultural Empowerment Network (M.E.N) and was an active member of the FUSION Network focused on creating inclusive spaces for LGBT+ students and alumni. Since graduating in 2014, Tory has worked as an HR Technology and Talent Acquisition consultant for several industries: including programmatic media and advertising, commercial supply chain, and insurance & analytics. In his continuous persuit of learning and love for Orange Nation, He will beign his studies Fall 2017 for an MS in Information Management (IM) from the iSchool. Tory is on assignment as an HRIS Project Analyst for Talent Acquisition at Omnicom Media Group.

Claudia Garib – Co-Creative Director

Born and raised in New York City, Claudia is a recent graduate who’s unique international experience makes her passionate about higher education and acclimating all students from near and far to the bustling life of the concrete jungle. Her passions are making new friends, learning languages and cultures, and building computers.

Kimberly Riordan – Co-Creative Director

Kim Riordan graduated from Syracuse in 2004 with a dual degree in photojournalism & political science. At Syracuse, she worked as a photographer for the Daily Orange. Kim currently works a creative content producer. When she’s not busy training for her next marathon, Kim volunteers as the Vice Chair of Social Media for one of the New York Junior League’s fundraising committees. Kim enjoys traveling and so far has been to 54 countries.

Zac earned his Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship & Emerging Enterprises from Syracuse University. He currently resides in New York City.

Zac Gorman works for AdMore® and currently serves as a Sales Development Manager. In Zac’s current role, he helps manage a variety of clients and oversees their advanced television advertising campaigns. Prior to his experience in television, Zac worked in the music industry as a talent agent for nationally touring musicians.

Joe is a marketing professional with over 20 years’ tenure in media, entertainment, and telecommunications. Blending his rich Syracuse University education with his personal love for music, he is a founding Member and General Manager of PowerVJ, a national music video distribution and advertising network for LGBT bars and nightclubs. As such, he oversees operations, marketing, ad sales, and venue relations. Joe served WhitmanNYC since its launch in 2008 as Webmaster, two terms as VP, and President of the Club. In his spare time he enjoys DJing, advising startup businesses, and developing ventures in film production.

James Ward – Co-Vice President of Mentorship & Professional Development

B.S. in Engineering | College of Engineering, 2014

James is a Technology Consultant at Protiviti in New York City, working on a number of technology projects at Financial Service clients and currently living in Brooklyn, NY. He graduated from the School of Engineering with a BS in Environmental Engineering in May 2015. During his time at Syracuse University, James was actively involved in a number of student organizations, including as the Chairman of the College Republicans, Board Member of the University Conduct Board, Member of the Syracuse University Ski Team, and Social Chair of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. James enjoys skiing, working out, and visiting his siblings who currently attend Syracuse University. GO ORANGE!

Mandisa is a recent grad and NYC native who is eager to embark on post-grad life while also staying connected to her SU roots! While at SU, Mandisa was very involved. She was an RA, and a member of PRSSA, The Girl Code Movement, The Daily Orange, and Jerk Magazine. Having interned last summer with Cognito, a finance and fintech PR firm, she was able to accept a position with the company immediate after graduating. She is currently an Associate Account Executive, working on data-driven social media coordination, research of brand perception, multimedia storytelling, and maintenance of brand identities across all platforms.

David is a Solutions Architect at CrowdTwist, where he builds cross channel loyalty experiences for the worlds largest brands. ​Previously David was at Oracle executing marketing campaigns for Fortune 100 brands. ​Prior to graduating with both his Bachelor’s (iSchool & Whitman, 2011) and Master’s (iSchool, 2012) David was always busy at SU! For all four years of his undergrad, David worked for SIDEARM Sports, where be built and ran the Streaming Media department. Doing this enabled him to sit courtside & in the press box for all basketball and football games where he managed the live stats, live video & photos for SUAthletics’s Orange All-Access. As a Master’s student, David organized the #140cuse Conference​ ​for over 700 attendees; as well as managed the technology aboard StarshipNEXIS, a research lab at the iSchool. Throughout his time at ‘Cuse, David participated in and organized the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, and was also named 2011 iSchool Class Marshal. Even if it means visiting enemy territory (like Georgetown or Villanova), David is always up for cheering on the Orange, GO ‘CUSE!

 

Fabien Levy – Board Member

B.A. in Political Science | Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, 2005

Fabien is a professional political operative, having spent his time since leaving The Hill traveling around the country working on multiple political campaigns, on Capitol Hill, and as a political appointee in the Obama Administration. In the last few years, he has worked on the campaigns of U.S. Senators Dianne Feinstein, Barbara Boxer, Kay Hagan, and Mary Landrieu; on New York Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul’s (an SU alum) special election for Congress in Western New York; and on both of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s presidential races, in 2008 and 2016. Fabien also served as the Press Secretary at the U.S. Department and Health and Human Services in President Obama’s Administration, where he acted as a spokesman for the Affordable Care Act and coordinated press events around the nation for U.S. Cabinet Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. Currently, Fabien acts as a political and communications strategist for political, government, and non-profit clients across the country. He is excited to be in his eighth year with BAO, and previously served as Vice President of Marketing for the club.

Supreet Kaur graduated from Syracuse in 2015 with a BS in Information Technology Management and with a minor in Finance. Prior being on the board of directors of BAO she served as the Co-President. During her time at Syracuse she was involved with peer advising, student association, the international relations club and Sigma Delta Tau. She also studied abroad in Hong Kong during her junior year and had the opportunity to intern in TMT law at Mayer Brown JSM while abroad. Currently she is a business consultant for Ernst and Young.

 

Tracey Olesh – Board Member

Tracey graduated with her B.S. and M.S. degrees from Syracuse. She is currently a speech-language pathologist in the New York City Department of Education. During her time at SU, Tracey was an active member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority, Orange Pulse Dance Troupe, and the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life committee. Tracey is a huge ‘Cuse basketball fan and loves to support the Orange here in the city! She is looking forward to being a part of the BAO board as a way to stay involved and connected with her Syracuse family. GO ORANGE!

Jeremy Sulit – Board Member

B.S. in Advertising | S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, 2012

Jeremy currently works as an account executive for hMAG, a lifestyle magazine in Hoboken, NJ. At Syracuse, he worked as a content producer for Citrus TV and as an account executive on the award-winning Stupid Drink campaign for The NewHouse Agency. Sulit also participated in a summer abroad program in London, where he took an eye-opening course on cross-cultural advertising. He believes that his experience at Syracuse has played a large role in making him who he is today and as First Vice President, he is proud to represent the Orange.

Scott Kevy – Board Member

B.S. in Sport Management | David B. Falk College of Sport & Human Dynamics, 2015

Originally from Maryland, Scott graduated from Syracuse University in 2015, with a B.S. in Sport Management, and a minor in Information Management & Technology. Scott currently works at Momentum Worldwide, an experiential agency, working across numerous sports partnerships. Throughout his time at SU, Scott was involved in numerous student organizations, including the Sport Management Club and the Social/Digital Media Team for SU Admissions and Syracuse Athletics. No matter the season, Scott’s always reppin’ his Orange, Go ‘Cuse!
